Egg Fests occur all over North America and Southwestern Michigan's first official "Egg Fest" will be held in the historic Village of Colon, Michigan, the "Magic Capital of the World" and all proceeds are donated to the Colon American Legion Post 454, a 501c3 non-profit organization.

In conjunction with The Big Green Egg and Camburn’s Appliances, EGGs-ecutive Director, Tim Taylor, announced further details of the Magic City Egg Fest to be held in the Village of Colon, Michigan on Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 11:00am to 5:00pm.  The Magic City Egg Fest is a culinary grilling competition for enthusiasts of the Big Green Egg, the most popular Kamado-style grill in the world.  “It’s a grill, a smoker and an oven, all wrapped into one super high-end barbecue,” said Taylor, who currently owns two of the popular egg-shaped grills.  “Anyone who has grilled, or consumed food prepared on the Big Green Egg can attest to it’s splendid quality.”  There will be a maximum of 20 teams, no more than four to a team.  For the $100.00 team fee, each team will be provided with a Large Big Green Egg, charcoal, tent and prep table as well as pork ribs, chicken and proofed dough for the ribs, chicken and pizza rounds.  Each team will also receive one copy of Ray Lampe’s Big Green Egg Cookbook; Grill, Smoke, Bake, Roast.  The festival will include additional food vendors, chef demonstrations, a raffle for a Large Big Green Egg grilling package and the ability to purchase one of 20 Large Big Green Eggs used during the competition at event-only discount pricing.  All proceeds from the event will benefit the Colon American Legion Post 454, a 501c3 non-profit organization.  The event will take place at 123 E. State Street in the Village of Colon, Michigan located in the OMNI Community Credit Union parking lot
